demopark 2023: Innovations from the tall grass experts

At demopark 2023, AS-Motor will present interesting innovations at its exhibition area E595. In addition to the familiar product portfolio, visitors can expect a new roundabout mower that is also ideally suited for professional use, a new more powerful and battery-powered weed brush, the AS 60 EWeedHex and the re-design of the two-wheel drive Sherpas AS 915 and AS 920.

For professional use

The topic of ecological green space maintenance is on everyone's lips. Service providers and municipalities are also increasingly tasked with maintaining so-called rough pastures. Roundabout mowers, also known as drum mowers, are suitable for this purpose. For the 2024 mowing season, AS-Motor is expanding its range of these mowers with another model, which will be on display for the first time at demopark in Eisenach. The AS 700 KM is ideally suited for professional use due to its working width of 70 cm and the associated high area output. The robust Honda GCV engine with its 6.5 hp from 200 cc displacement and a torque of 12.7 Nm, it has sufficient power reserves.

Thanks to the drum mower principle, the grass is cut cleanly close to the ground and not shredded. The four oscillating blades on the mowing drum deflect backwards when an obstacle is encountered. The sliding disc, which is mounted underneath the drum, follows the ground contour and simultaneously determines the cutting height.

The mechanical drive of the AS 700 KM has four forward gears and one reverse gear, which can be conveniently shifted between using the gear lever. Thanks to the large-volume tyres, the roundabout mower is very capable off-road. The differential lock also provides more traction on slopes. The steering bar with anti-vibration protection (Vibration-Protect) is laterally and height adjustable and can thus be comfortably adapted to the height of the operator. The foldable steering bar allows for compact transport dimensions.

New gloss now also for the Sherpa models with rear-wheel drive

At GaLaBau in Nuremberg last autumn, AS-Motor presented the new 2023 all-wheel drive models of the powerful AS Sherpa high grass mower family. At demopark, the 2WD models will now also appear in new splendour. The visual innovations, which have already convinced the jury of the German Design Award, are now also applied to the two-wheel drive models. The new paintwork, the additional front panel and the redesigned lettering make the mowers even more attractive. In addition to the exterior features, the new 2024 models also offer some technical innovations. Access to the engine for maintenance and service work has been significantly improved. The new tank has more volume (17 litres) and has a larger filler opening, which makes refuelling much easier. The new and robust locking mechanism of the folding safety bar ensures easier handling and operation. It makes the handle much less susceptible to damage and prevents elbow bumps.

The rear-wheel drive models are particularly characterised by their extreme manoeuvrability and high area outputs. Driving speeds of up to 11 km/h are no problem for the Sherpa 2WD models no problem. The combination with the proven components of the Sherpa all-wheel drive models, such as the surfing mower deck with cross blades or the travel lever with integrated parking brake, also make the AS Sherpa 2WD a real professional mower for daily use.

New weed brush AS 60 EWeedHex with battery drive

With the new AS 60 EWeedHex, AS-Motor now has an even more powerful weed brush with a 60 cm working width in its portfolio. The compact and easy-to-handle weed brush with 56V battery drive is ideally suited for inner-city use. The newly developed machine enables a higher area performance than the existing AS 30 WeedHex on level and slightly uneven surfaces as well as along walls and kerbs.

Thanks to two EGO-PowerPlus ARC Li-Ion plug-in batteries with 672 Wh each (total capacity 1.34 kWh), a long range is achieved. The very quiet and emission-free operation prevents noise pollution, which is a very important argument for a battery-powered weed brush, especially in urban environments. The torque of the battery motor is higher than that of a conventional 200 cm³ combustion engine. The torque is multiplied by a mechanical reduction gear on the brush. This allows the brush speed to be reduced to only 180 (ECO) or 190 revolutions per minute (TURBO). The low brush speed ensures very long brush life and guarantees the lowest risk of stone chipping. The batteries of the new weed brush are fully compatible and can be used on all other devices of the AS-Motor Electric product line.

We look forward to seeing you at our stand E595 at this year's demopark in Eisenach.
