AS-Motor offers solutions for public utility maintenance
AS-Motor provides professional technology for the maintenance of water reservoirs, treatment plants and power plants, optimizing efficiency and operator safety.
Water and power plants require high maintenance standards to maximize efficiency and avoid contamination. Renewable power plants – such as biogas, water or wind energy – and the embankments and dams of water reservoirs and retention basins must also be regularly maintained. AS-Motor’s professional machines excel at these tasks, maximizing efficiency and operator safety.
Application examples
Water retention basins and sewage treatment plants
Dams and embankments pose the greatest challenge in maintaining wastewater treatment plants, water retention basins and reservoirs. Slopes can exceed 40 degrees, posing a threat to operator safety. However, AS-Motor offers several machines that are engineered to perform on slopes, from the walk-behind Allmäher to remote-controlled mowers for particularly steep areas.
Wind energy plants
Wind turbines are often surrounded by slopes and situated in remote areas, leading them to be mowed just several times per year. The robust cutting technology of AS-Motor machines delivers optimal results in high grass and rough terrain.
AS 1040 YAK 4WD has robust cutting equipment and is more stable than rotary mowers, which enables safe work. This is particularly important for our company due to the specificity of the funnel-shaped water filter tanks.
We use AS 940 Sherpa Adventure as well as AS 63 2-stroke including double tyres for the maintenance of wind farms. With the machines we achieve an excellent mulching result, regardless of whether it's lush tall grass or scrub. The slope capability of both machines is impressive and convinced us completely during the demonstration that was offered to us before the purchase. Before buying the AS machines, we worked these areas with brushcutters. By using the AS 63 and AS 940 Sherpa, the area performance has improved significantly and the workload reduction is brilliant.
Dear AS-Motor Team, enclosed are a few impressions from today's green maintenance work on wind turbines. We are surprised every day anew by the performance of our Sherpa. With such a great machine, nothing can go wrong!
I can completely mow the wastewater treatment plant in about one day with the new AS 63 2T ES. It took me almost twice as long with a brush-cutter. The AS 63’s twin tyres make the device extremely safe on a slope.

Professional technology
During the mowing season, professional operators often run their machines 5 days per week, 8 hours per day. AS-Motor’s machines are unbeatable in terms of quality, durability and professional work results. Additional advantages include low weight, lashing points and compact transport dimensions.
High meadow grass
Because mowing of meadow orchards and roadside greenery can occur only once or twice per year, grass, perennials and shrubbery can grow up to 100 cm high. AS-Motor’s walk-behind Allmähers and ride-on Sherpas deliver high performance and outstanding mulching results in these conditions.
Mulching
Mulching is a process by which grass cuttings are shredded several times into a fine mulch, which then remains on the surface as natural fertiliser. Special mulching blades with a double cutting plane and a circular mulching unit are used on ornamental lawns, while cross-blade systems or flail mowers are primarily used in high grass.
Uneven terrain
Animal burrows, anthills, mole hills and water channels cause uneven terrain. Several AS-Motor machines have high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and limited slip differential, along with appropriately studded field tyres, for uneven terrain.
Slopes
AS-Motor engineers machines with high ground clearance, steep ramp angles, low overall weight, optimal weight distribution and a low centre of gravity to perform on slopes.
All-wheel drive
All-wheel drive not only ensures performance on inclines over 30 degrees, but also a high level of safety for travel downhill. All-wheel drive delivers propulsion in wet conditions and on uneven terrain – even if the wheels of one axle no longer have traction.
Remote-control
Remote controlled devices make the mowing of extreme slopes possible. This technology also allows the operator to mow at a safe distance from dust, wasps, ticks and other hazards.
Interlocking paving stones
The AS 50’s high work rate delivers efficient weed removal on large and uneven surfaces such as a car parks, commercial areas and paths. A collection bag eliminates the need for sweeping and surface cleaning.
