To celebrate our 60th anniversary we have decided to offer our successful AS 940 Sherpa 4WD model in a limited “Sherpa Adventure” edition for loyal fans of our brand. The Sherpa perfectly and symbolically combines the characteristics of robustness, reliability and performance. This we guarantee with a full 5-year guarantee on every single Sherpa Adventure.
It has been 60 years since our founder Alfred Schefenacker had a “brilliant” idea in the truest sense of the word. At that time mowing high grass was still manual labour, pure and hard. This was particularly arduous in hilly wine regions, such as his native area near Stuttgart. “We must invent a machine for mowing high grass on steep slopes” – that was his goal. This was the birth of the first 2-stroke powered high grass mower, the first “Allmäher”, in 1959.
Propelled by the momentum of the Wirtschaftswunder (economic miracle) the Allmäher’s popularity spread throughout Germany more quickly and with greater success than anyone could have thought. Three wheels and a 2-stroke engine quickly epitomised the high grass mower.
In the decades that followed, the Allmäher’s basic concept was consistently further developed by our family business. Larger, stronger and more powerful mowers facilitated mowing work for the user. The first high grass ride-on mowers at the end of the 90s were the logical consequence of this progress. Today in the third generation at AS-Motor and in the future, this goal will not change. Quality combined with innovation remains the driving force of our enterprise.
Modern engineering and new technologies, such as RC units, intelligent drive controls and assistance systems, show us the path for future new developments, however modern engineering and new technologies should never replace our essential values of the past: robustness, reliability and performance.
